Today was the kick-off for the fifth annual Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. It's a three-week event that always starts with a free concert in Central Park. There are events every day, including workshops in the schools, candlelit concerts at Ft. Clinch, galas at the Ritz Carlton and "Beer and G-Strings" concerts at the Palace Saloon. While the festival is crawling with world-class musicians, several of the events are low-key and the musicians are quite approachable. They love the small venues and our small island. It's on for the next three weeks and well worth the trip for any music lover.
