Alaska!

My keen blog observers surely took note that my blog was a little bit "off" last week. That's because your humble innkeeper was gone for a week celebrating my in-laws' 60th anniversary on a family trip to Alaska. I had preloaded several blog entries before I left that were supposed to be uploaded one-a-day-style but that didn't quite work out. I can assure you, however, that I was walking - REALLY walking. I won't bore you with all of my vacation shots but I will post a few to show you what my walks looked like last week. Thanks for indulging this brief intermission.

This is my handsome husband and fellow walker, Bill, ahead of me in this truly great rain forest on an island off of Sitka. Other than the rain forests, glaciers, soaring mountains, whales, harbour seals and 50 degree temperatures, the town reminded us alot of Fernandina. Bill and I have always said that we came to Fernandina because it reminded us so much of Cicely, Alaska (Northern Exposure). It's kind of like that in real life too.
