A New Beginning

I have fallen off the fitness wagon big time (I've always been honest with my loyal blog readers, especially after a glass or two of wine) and I'm ready to get back on. I renewed our annual pass at Ft. Clinch today - which gains us admittance to all Florida state parks - and I'm ready to sit on this bench to lace up my running shoes and head down that road behind it. Unless it gets hot or difficult, then I'm totally wimping out. Just kidding. I'm ready to get back on that horse, jump back in the saddle, face my demons, stare down the dragon, unleash the Clagon, look in the mirror, turn the page, break through the wall, or, um, just jog a bit. Wish me luck.

You can do Ft. Clinch in all kinds of combos, too, so it doesn't get boring. Some days I bike to the campground, other days I bike to the fishing pier and do a "power walk" (best on non-crowded weekdays) and then the best route is bike through the park to the campground, stretch/rest at the river, then bike back to the beach, walk south down the beach to North Beach, then bike home from there. I call it the "Tour of the Island" trip. Good luck and see you in the park!
