Arrrrrrrr Ayyyyyyyye

Avast me mateys! Everybody start practicing because September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Let's start the celebration by offering a $50 Fairbanks House gift certificate to the person who does the best job of begging for the certificate in your best pirate speak. Tell me what you'd do here on Amelia Island. Sob stories don't count (but flattery helps) and your plea must be entered via the comments section on this blog. Just click on the word "comments" at the end of this post and follow the instructions. Ties will be decided by our staff. So come on me swabs and wenches, let's hear it! The island's crawling with pirates anyway - come join us.

Shiver me timbers! a contest with booty. Arrgh-meparrot and I love contests with dubloons. Me captain would be happy to sail to Georgia from your fine waters and drink your grog. I would share the booty by shopping in your lovely port for treasures. Thank you fine lady for considering me entry.

Avast Fairbanks House!
Me hearties and me loved our stay when we came into port. Our ship navigated around Fort Clinch and shored in Fernandina.
We used our doubloons to down a pirate punch at ye saloon. These old sea dogs and me staggered to yer inn and fell into bed. No hard tack fer us the next mornin! Ye served up some fine grub. Cap'n Salty didn't sleep as well as we did cuz he kept mutterin that he spied the ghost of Bill in ye tower. Sometimes the rum fogs the thinkin.
Our Jolly Roger is up and flyin. We'll be sure to drop anchor in yer lagoon again. If we snag the booty we'll ride them horses on a tour and see Cap'ns ghosts.
