Blog Anniversary

Today is the 3rd anniversary of my blog. So I celebrated it with a windy walk before the rain comes in tonight. I started the blog with the hope of 1)showing you a bit of our little slice of paradise 2)keeping to my walking program 3)entertaining you (and me) a little bit each day. So... I've mostly kept my end of the bargain, but I want to know what you think. Is there something that you'd like to see more, or less, of? Has it been helpful in your vacation decision-making process? Have you learned anything? Would you prefer that I mix it up to include recipes, upcoming events, more guest photos, etc? Do you have a favorite blog post or photo? I'd really appreciate the feedback. Anyone who comments will be entered into a drawing for a free night at Fairbanks House. And there will be five more winners of $50 gift certificates. I'd really prefer the comments to be attached to the blog but if you're too shy, please e-mail me at I thank you all for your readership and I especially thank my regular readers - and "comment-leavers". Let's hear it! I'm going to have a beer now. Cheers!

P.S. And if you don't care to comment for whatever reason, at least take the poll(s) at the left. Thanks.

Hi Theresa,
I'm catching up on your blog and saw this post asking for feedback so here it is:
1) Rob and I love your blog. We feel like we're in Amelia with you because of your descriptive writing and pictures.
2) LOVE the pictures. They tell a story all by themselves.
3) Appreciate the length of posts. Not too long - just enough copy to describe what's going on. Any longer and I think people would start to tune out.

So far I've posted all "good" feedback. I can't think of anything constructive other than it's hard to keep up with a daily blog. You could probably get away with only 1-2 posts per week.

To answer your other questions:
Yes, the blog is helpful for vacation decision making (and relocation decision making), you could include a recipe from time to time (maybe recipe of the month), there already is a link on the website for upcoming events so I'd leave those out of the blog, and I'd continue the current mix of pictures - mostly of what you see and occasionally of guests. I find the pictures of the community more interesting unless the guest is someone I know or of another guest doing something really fun or funny.

Finally, my favorite blog are the ones about Billy (or any pet). I'm a pet lover.. what can I say?

All the best,
Lisa McAbee
